Miss USA Tara Conner checked out of a rehab clinic in Pennsylvania on Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.
Conner, 21, checked into The Caron Foundation in Wernersville, Penn., in December, Access Hollywood had reported.
Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump had permitted Conner to keep her crown despite allegations of drug and alcohol abuse. At a December news conference, Trump said “She left a small town in Kentucky, and she was telling me that she got caught up in the whirlwind of New York.”
The Daily News quoted an unnamed source as saying, “Right now (Conner is) just going to get used to being out. She needs some time to breathe.”
The paper went on to say that the Miss USA pageant “angrily denied” an earlier Daily News article that said Conner was considering celebrating her release with a party at New York club Stereo, site of some of her earlier woes.
Conner has admitted she drank while underage in New York clubs, but also said “I wouldn’t say that I’m alcoholic. I’d think that would be pushing the envelope.”
Conner won the title in April.
Other beauty queens have been in the news recently as well. A pregnant and unwed Miss New Jersey USA, Ashley Harder, resigned her title due to pregnancy. And Miss Nevada USA, Katie Rees, was kicked out of the pageant by Trump when racy photos of her surfaced.
