Britney's B-day weekend: Partying with panties!

Britney Spears turned 25 on Saturday and after giving the paparazzi so much recently, she finally got something in return.

Britney was serenaded by photographers as she entered club Hyde in Hollywood to celebrate her b-day. She was escorted by dear friend and former manager Larry Rudolph.

Inside the club, Britney partied with new BFF Paris Hilton, but that was only one part of the day's big festivities.

Brit's big day began with a trip to the L.A. Zoo with Sean Preston, with the paparazzi following them every step of the way.

For the big birthday dinner, Britney and gang headed to Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills.

Of course, it was photo madness when Britney arrived.

But as for her recent habit of partying without panties, that was not the case this weekend.

During dinner, Brit lifted her mini-dress to show the photogs she was indeed partying with panties.

And while Amy Poehler made a few flashing jokes on "Saturday Night Live" at Britney's expense this weekend, Access Hollywood has learned Britney has taken steps to end the trend.

According to lingerie boutique Le Bra owner Jason Amir Majdi, Britney purchased thousands of dollars worth of lingerie.

"The collection that she took with her was about $3,400," Jason told Access.

And speaking of purchase, Hilton shopped at Beverly Hills boutique Kitson earlier in the day spending thousands on Britney's birthday presents.

Among the gifts — teddy bear necklaces, matching headbands (because Hilty and Brit have to dress alike of course) and onesies and T-shirts for Britney's sons.

So while Brit and Paris were seen all over Hollywood, there is one place you won't be seeing the pair — at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday.

Both had been tapped to host the event, and Fox even ran promos touting the two as hosts. However, both pulled out of the event last week.

But producer Michael Levitt hasn't given up hope.

"We're truly holding out hope that the two of them will be on a plane coming here tomorrow and making some sort of surprise appearance on the show," he told Access.

Meanwhile, at VH1's Big In '06 Awards on Saturday night, Britney wasn't around to pick up her Big Mama Award. But Paris was there to claim her Outlaw Award.

"I never really thought of myself as an outlaw. More like a girl who just likes to have fun and get in a little trouble sometimes," she said.
