Some Fox affiliates say no to Simpson show

NEW YORK - The owners of nine Fox affiliates say they won’t air a two-part network special featuring O.J. Simpson.

Lin Broadcasting and Pappas Broadcasting say the programming doesn’t serve the public interest and they don’t want to help Simpson profit from the project.

In “If I Did It,” Simpson talks in hypothetical terms about his role in the 1994 killing of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. It’s scheduled for November 27 and 29 and precedes the November 30 publication of a book where Simpson talks about how he would have committed the murders “if he were the one responsible.”

Fox stations in most of the nation’s biggest cities are owned by Fox and will abide by the network’s decision on what to air.

There are about 200 Fox affiliates across the country.
