NASSAU, Bahamas - Anna Nicole Smith remained hospitalized Friday as she had fluid drained from a partially collapsed lung while recovering from pneumonia, her attorney said.

“She’s doing a lot better, but when you would have a collapsed lung, they would keep you in,” attorney Wayne Munroe told The Associated Press.

The former Playboy playmate on Monday checked into Doctors Hospital, the same facility where she gave birth to a daughter on Sept. 7 and her son died while visiting her three days later.

Munroe said his client was not surprised by a South Carolina developer’s assertion Thursday that he loaned her money for the gated, waterfront mansion where she has been living. G. Ben Thompson told reporters in Nassau he wanted to evict her because she has not honored an agreement to pay the mortgage.

Smith’s son, Daniel, died in her room at Doctors Hospital, the only private medical center in Nassau. A private examiner said the cause was a lethal combination of methadone and antidepressants.

The results of official toxicology tests and a police investigation into his death have not been released.
