“Click”
Adam Sandler has the world’s most powerful remote control in his latest comedy hit. Sandler stars with Kate Beckinsale, Christopher Walken, Henry Winkler and David Hasselhoff in the story of a frazzled architect and family man who obtains a universal remote that initially gives him control over everything in his life — but soon sends his world spinning into chaos. Along with deleted scenes, the DVD comes with a range of featurettes, including two centered on the fat suit and makeup effects used to turn Sandler into an obese wreck. Behind-the-scenes segments also examine special effects and the cars created for the movie’s futuristic scenes. Sandler, director Frank Coraci and some of their colleagues provide commentary. DVD, $28.95. (Sony) Read the review

Robert Altman assembles a stellar cast for this fanciful backstage look at Garrison Keillor’s venerable radio program. Keillor stars as a variation of himself alongside Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Lily Tomlin, Tommy Lee Jones, Lindsay Lohan, Woody Harrelson, Virginia Madsen and John C. Reilly in a fictionalized tale about the radio show’s final broadcast. The DVD features extended versions of the musical numbers and gag commercials that appear in the film, along with a making-of featurette. Altman and Kline team up for commentary. DVD, $27.95. Tyrese Gibson stars as an ex-hood trying to go straight who must return to his criminal ways to carry out a robbery spree and raise the ransom money to rescue his young son from a drug lord (played by rapper The Game). Meagan and Larenz Tate co-star in this dreary, dumb crime thriller. The DVD pretentiously comes with an “analysis of a scene” segment in which director Vondie Curtis Hall prepares cast and crew to shoot the pivotal carjacking sequence that sets the action in motion. Other extras include deleted scenes, a featurette on the auto-chase scenes and a music video. DVD, $29.98. (Universal) Read the review

“The Exorcist: The Complete Anthology”
More demons from hell than you’ll ever need are gathered in this boxed set, which rounds up the entire franchise about Satan’s possessive relations with mortals. The six-disc set has director William Friedkin’s classic 1973 original about a young girl (Linda Blair) possessed by the devil and the priest (Max Von Sydow) determined to free her, along with the extended version released theatrically a few years ago. Also included are the forgettable sequels “Exorcist II: The Heretic” and “The Exorcist III” and the two equally forgettable attempts at prequels following the priest’s first encounter with Satan. DVD set, $42.98. (Warner Bros.)

TV on DVD:

“Scrubs: The Complete Fourth Season” — The sparkling hospital sitcom about eager young doctors and their gruff mentors, starring Zach Braff, returns in a three-disc set with year four’s 25 episodes. The set includes commentary, deleted scenes, an interview with co-star Donald Faison and a featurette on Neil Flynn’s mischievous janitor character. DVD set, $39.99. (Disney)

“Numbers: The Complete Second Season” — Math and crime add up in Rob Morrow and David Krumholtz’s crime-busting series about an FBI agent and his numbers-whiz brother who team up to solve cases. The six-disc set has the second season’s 24 episodes, with commentary and two featurettes. DVD set, $61.99. (Paramount)

“Simon & Simon: Season One” — Gerald McRaney plays a laid-back rogue working with his slick brother (Jameson Parker) in the 1980s private-detective series. The first 13 episodes, plus a bonus episode from season two, come in a three-disc set, which also has a segment on 1980s TV shows. DVD set, $39.98. (Universal)

“Magnum, P.I.: The Complete Fifth Season,” “The A-Team: Season Five” — Tom Selleck’s lovable Hawaiian detective Magnum is back in a five-disc set with year five’s 22 episodes.
