No Brewers games for alleged Uecker stalker
71-year-old Hall of Famer said Ladd, 45, harassing him for several years

MILWAUKEE - A woman charged with stalking Hall of Fame announcer Bob Uecker has been ordered to have no contact with him and avoid any ballpark where the Milwaukee Brewers play.
Ann E. Ladd was released on a signature bond Wednesday in Milwaukee County District Court. She was ordered to stay away from Uecker’s home and workplace, including Miller Park in Milwaukee and any major league ballpark, and stay at least 1,000 feet from him at all times.
The court denied a motion by the defense to dismiss all charges, with the judge finding probable cause for a trial. Ladd has been charged with felony stalking and could face up to 3 1/2 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted.
A call to Ladd’s lawyer was not immediately returned on Thursday.
Ladd was arrested at her home in Prospect Heights, Ill., on June 22 by U.S. Marshals and taken to the Cook County Jail to await extradition. She was brought back to Milwaukee later in the week and had been in the county’s custody since then.
Uecker, the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers for more than 35 years, filed a temporary restraining order against Ladd earlier in June, contending she had been harassing him for years.
Two civil hearings were delayed because court officials couldn’t find her to serve her with papers.
The 71-year-old Uecker has said the 45-year-old Ladd has been stalking him for six or seven years, sending unsolicited gifts such as flowers and teddy bears and showing up at Brewers games and in hotels across the country.
A hearing in the civil case is planned for Monday. A hearing in the criminal case is scheduled for July 11.
