  Summer safety checklist
Depending on the activity, you may need to put some or all of these items in your backpack:
— Lots of water
— A hat
— Sunglasses
— Sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15
— Healthy snacks such as trail mix and fruit
— Sports drinks if you’ll be exercising more than an hour
— Cell phone
— Band-Aids for blisters or scrapes
— Insect repellent
— Epinephrine if you’re allergic to bees
— Tweezers to remove ticks
