Meet the faces of ’The Most’
’The Most’ covers a range of topics, from politics to pop culture
Tony Maciulis is a senior producer and on-air contributor for MSNBC.
During his five years at MSNBC, he has produced coverage of the crash of Flight 587, the Summer Olympic Games in Athens and the Winter Games in Turin, Italy, and election coverage in 2004.
Since May 2005, he has served as a blog and Internet analyst for the channel.
Before joining MSNBC, Tony was a free-lance correspondent with National Public Radio.
As a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, he received the CBS/Fred Friendly Prize for broadcast journalism.
Pete Breen is a producer for MSNBC.
When asked to make the jump from behind the scenes to in front of the camera, long-time MSNBC Producer Pete Breen enthusiastically replied, “Uh, I guess.”
Thinking more on the subject, he went on to say, “The world is ready,” and finally, “What took so long?” He then yelled at an intern because his coffee was too hot. It should be noted that Pete had never met said intern and that he wasn’t even drinking coffee at the time of the incident.
In any event, Pete is excited over the concept and ideas behind the “The Most,” particularly “The Least List,” when the broadcast takes a break to give viewers some of the lesser covered stories out there.
“For a long time now, my wife has said that I’m the man who knows the most about the least,” he said. “Now I get the chance to prove that to the world.”
Pete’s first broadcasting experience was at the College of the Holy Cross. There he hosted a radio show, as well as interned at a local radio station. He still looks back fondly at the time he was forced to wear a “Love Bandit" costume and hand out flyers in downtown Worcester, Mass.
If you remember Pete as the host of Sterling Colorado’s “Community Calendar” cut-ins on a now-defunct television station, then you’re the only person besides Pete who does.
After heading back to the East Coast, Pete started working at MSNBC. There he’s been involved with several broadcasts and specials. It’s also where he met his wife.
When he’s not watching the Web for the latest developing stories, Pete enjoys spending time with his family. He’s been told he’s an excellent “Diaper-Genie" changer and plays a mean game of “Peek-A-Boo.”
