Novel ideas
The ultimate themed trip of the year has to be “Nine days on the trail of the ‘Da Vinci Code’,” organized by Gutsy Women Travel. Priced at $3,700 to $3,900, depending on the season, it’s the most expensive trip at Gutsy Women Travel, which offers about 25 trips a year in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and several destinations in Europe.

The famous Louvre Museum plays a vital role in Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code," and it could play a vital role on your mom's next vacation.

Led by a Templar Knight of the Order of Scottish Knight Templars, the first stop to the Louvre is the Denon Wing, where Jacques Saunière's body was discovered in the novel. Other stops in France include Gare Saint-Lazare, where Sophie Neveu bought train tickets to Lillie and the Ritz Hotel, where Robert Langdon first learned about the murder at the Louvre. Of course, no “Da Vinci Code” trip would be complete without a visit to St. Sulpice Church, the site of the Rose Line. As Landgon and Neveu did, the group also follows the trail of the grail to sites in London and Edinburgh.

Gutsy Women Travel has other “novel” ideas planned for the future. One such trip is a “Memoirs of a Geisha” tour throughout Japan for 2007, says April Merenda, president and co-founder.
