'Entourage' boys are back in town Sept. 5: After wrapping season five of "Entourage," the stars hit the red carpet and discuss what to expect in the new season. |
Are Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe really on the rocks just days after her huge Oscar win for “Walk the Line?”
If you believe the headlines, they are. But the question is, should you believe them?
Certainly, Reese and Ryan are giving no indication of love on the rocks.
“He's incredibly gracious and wonderful,” Reese told us.
“She's a tremendous woman to begin with. A special woman,” Ryan beams of his wife.
Despite these declarations of love, Reese and Ryan's marriage is being dogged by ugly headlines.
The latest in the new issue of Life & Style claiming Reese and Ryan are in a “marriage crisis.”
Then again, this is the same magazine that was wrong just two weeks ago with claims of a Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes split.

“What's interesting here is that Life & Style and InTouch are owned by the same company and share the same offices. When Life & Style reported the Cruise split, InTouch contradicted their sister magazine on the supposed Cruise breakup. The two magazines had two different stories. It makes no sense,” Access producer Michael Lewittes explained. “Trust me, this latest report makes no sense. I saw Reese and Ryan on Sunday night and they are fine.”
As usual, the magazine stands by its story. Regardless, this is one couple who goes out of their way to stay together.
“He's been in Toronto and he came all the way down here for just like 24 hours to be with me, so it was really nice,” Reese told us in a recent interview.
Now, Reese and Ryan are together in London, where Ryan traveled to be with Reese while she's working on her new film “Penelope.”
And in a relationship consisting of two busy actors, those are the types of things you have to do to make it work, as Reese told us.
“We love each other. We have done everything together for nine years,” she smiled.
Back in November, we surprised Reese with a clip from a 1998 interview she did with Access.
The subject? Advice she got from Tobey Maguire regarding her then-boyfriend Ryan.
“When I first met my boyfriend, he was really far away,” Reese explained. “Tobey said to me, ‘I can see it in your heart that you love this guy so much. Why don't you just go? You should do what's in your heart’ and I got on a plane and I went.”
