Previously, he worked as a reporter, copy editor, designer and photographer at various news organizations, including The Associated Press, The Arizona Republic, The Santa Fe (N.M.) New Mexican, The Asbury Park (N.J.) Press and the Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald. A native of Queens, N.Y., he earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Queens College in New York.
