Martin Wolk

Chief economics correspondent

As MSNBC.com’s chief economics correspondent, Martin Wolk keeps tabs on the latest reports emanating from Washington and elsewhere on the state of American business, with particular emphasis on how the economy affects financial markets. He leads MSNBC’s coverage of monetary policy and will be tracking every utterance of new Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke with keen interest. Prior to joining MSNBC in 1999, Wolk worked for Reuters, the international news agency, as a senior correspondent. In a pre-digital age, he worked as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers in Ohio and North Carolina.
