Tom Cruise is living up to his Hollywood nickname of Mr. Cruise Control. A report supposedly outlining the star’s demands on the set of “Mission Impossible 3” was removed from the Web after Cruise’s lawyers sent a threatening legal letter.

A site called AFlyOntheWall.com claimed to have received a copy of an eight-page, single-spaced memo from Paramount, detailing how Cruise’s room is to be prepared, how he is to be addressed, and who is allowed to use his cell phone.

Cruise’s rep told the Scoop the report was “completely and utterly fabricated” and added that the person who faxed this fake memo would be tracked down and fired.

“I’ve removed the item in question because of a threatening letter from Tom Cruise’s (alleged) [sic] lawyer,” the site operator e-mailed the Scoop. “My blog is just for fun, and I’m not going to get into hissy fits with people over this stuff.”

It’s no wonder the Williams sisters didn’t win at the French Open.

A source who spent a good deal of time with the tennis dynamos at the tournament says “they really seemed down in the dumps” even before the games were played. “They were friendly, but seemed so unhappy. On the way to one of the matches, they were so grim, they looked more like they were heading to the proctologist than a sporting event.”

The insider says that the sisters also had “an army of handlers. Dozens, I would say. I hope those two have good money managers, because an entourage like that doesn’t come cheap.”

Penelope Cruz
sure knows how to choose her men. Tom Cruise’s ex was spotted smooching with the equally alluring Matthew McConaughey at a London concert, according to the Sun. . . .  Star Jones is taking her future hubby’s last name. The co-host of "The View" announced on the show that she’s becoming Star Reynolds. . . . That George Clooney is such a laugh riot. The “Ocean’s Twelve” hunk likes to amuse himself by sticking his head out a hotel window, to hear fans cheer, according to co-star Robbie Coltrane. “For fun, Clooney would stick his head out — screams — pull it back in and it would get quiet. Stick his head out — screams. Back in — quiet,” according to the Calgary Herald. “Clooney did this more than a few times, then said, ‘Go on Robbie, it’s your turn.’”
